It’s been two years since the release of the XD-M in .40CAL and 9mm and since then the market has been asking for the line up’s missing link the .45 ACP.  At first glance all XD-M pistols look pretty much the same.  Springfield went to great lengths to make this the smallest frame polymer 45ACP pistol on the market. It’s even smaller than it’s XD 45ACP counterpart.

The new XDM-45ACP comes with two 13+1 stainless steel magazines a 4.5″ steel melonite barrel, dovetail front and rear 3 dot sights and a trigger pull of 5.5 – 7.7 lbs.  It’s frame is produced with black polymer while the slide is Forged Steel.  The overall length comes in at 7.7″ long and an empty mag weight of 31oz.Springfield Armory XD-M 45ACPSome of the new features added to the design include a model contour frame which provides the ideal grip angle, Grasp slide serrations allowing a better grip of the slide and the mega lock texture on the grip providing  the shooter to put maximum hold on the gun.  These features are have been updated from previous XDM models.
New technology has been incorporated into the new XDm – 45ACP like it’s match grade barrel, minimal reset trigger that has shorter travel than any available polymer pistol along with a shorter reset which keeps you on target, and a melonite finish which offers a thick corrosion resistant hard surface.
